My article site got PR5 in recent Google PR upgrade. It was a nice little surprise for me since it had PR 0 before the upgrade. :D
Do you think PR is a big deal?

I think there is an opportunity to market my site using it higher PR but I am not sure how. Do you guys have any advice/comment/suggestion.

    Yes…it is.
I am still developing my site…as you can see article submission option is not working.

Don't think there have been any "update". But sites without PR "got in".

Something happened. A number of my sites just jumped in PR very recently, and have a subsequent increase in rankings.

congrats on the update! I would keep doing what your doing, expan on it if possible. Add more functionality, give people a reason to stay longer on the site when they visit.

    good luck

Two of my sites have also gain a PR5 ranking. This just indicates that what I am doing to promote and optimize them is working. The good thing about having a PR5 ranking is that the search engines pick up my new content pages very quickly.

So just think that the PR5 is validation for the work you put into your site and inspiration to continue enhancing your site.

Well since page rank is almost like fools gold right now, I wouldn't expect it to last much longer. I brought a site from a pr 0 to a pr 5 with only links from my sig... lmao.

    lol:D:D:D

On a more serious note, PR does not necessarily contribute to visitors. Content does. As an earlier poster mentioned, add more content and functionality to the site. Perhaps, if you want to capitalize quickly, you can sell text links or perhaps run coop ads?

Full disclosure: Both of those links are referrals. That aside, they are both great programs, with alot of DPers using each.

BTW, I eas surfing your site, and kept getting SQL errors about running out of available connections. Perhaps you should try to optimize your pages a touch, to use less SQL resources?

Of course, for all I know, you just got dugg or something.

    I think discussion going wayward...

Congratulations for higher PR...Now you can market your site for back link programs. You can charge some $$ for putting links on your high PR site...

Hope I get some commission ;)

In my opinion Page Rank has been increasingly devalued. PR5 is the new PR4 and so on.

Sell links on your site. Go to the Buy/Sell area on this forum. For a PR5 you should be able to get $5-10/month per link. If you manage to sell 5 or 10 links then you'll be doing alright.

After a few months of pulling in nice link cash, THEN sell the site.

Too many sites with PR 5 now. You really need something above PR 5 to sell links for something worthwhile imo. Keep adding content as seen if you can get it to PR6 :)
