I have a forum, with A LOT OF people visiting it at least once a day. But they're not clicking the ads. What do i do?
Forums are notorious for not doing well with Adsense. I have found that Kontera does great in my forums. Also, depending on how many visitors you're getting, a CPM network might do pretty well for you.
Change the ad position. You can for example put two 336x280 next to each other on top of the page, or two 728x90 after the first post in thread, and show this ads only to visitors who are not logged in so your registered members won't get annoyed
Those results are very typical for forums. Since your visitors are frequent, try moving the ad placements around from time to time.
If I had a forum, I think I would regularly change the locations of the ads. Here on DP, I never see them. I think I probably blank them out after seeing them so many times. Different color ads in different locations might start getting my attention again. YOu also run the risk of driving people away though if you make them too noticeable.
Be sure to make them noticeable - don't hide them in a corner. I've never heard of anyone who left a forum from looking at advertisements.
Perhaps, but I won't frequent sites that are so heavily ladened with ads that they take a higher role than the content of the page. You want them to be seen, but not irritating. IMO
