Got listed in a blog roll - Do I get a back link for every page they have?

A fellow was a gem and listed me in his blog roll. Of course this is shown on every one of his pages. Do I get a back link from each one of those pages and posts or does it count only for 1?

    Many thanks!

Technically you get a link from every cached page of his site, but they will not all be counted by Google. The other engines more so though, and blogrolls are good for direct traffic in my experience, so long as the site sare relevent.

^ he is spot on with this. All pages will technically backlink to you know (or atleast the pages where the blogroll module is working... which is almost all) but google will only count pages that are relevant in some way, have enough PR or some combination of whatever criteria they are actually using.

ex. Yahoo lists ~78 backlinks to the site in my sig when I have around 250 links pointing to it.
--- Google will show many fewer links for the same site.

BUT, although some backlinks don't "appear" to be indexed I strongly feel they contribute to your ranking still.

Lastly, blogrolls are good within an seo strategy, they won't get you far on their own, especially if it says "Blogroll:" above your link.

Yea, well it may show up when you do a yahoo "link:sitename" however this doesn't mean that google will actually count them as separate links.
