Go to the police to have it recorded and sue the heck out of him for a HUGE sum so he'll think twice before doing this again.
he wont get a huge sum any way lol... Assaults with bottles caused less serious injury and result in low compensation pay outs. Also they both had a drink the other guy can just say that he felt threatened by the noise and the OP stated that he knew the guy had anger issues so the OP could have left at any time but instead stayed.
If i was you i would give him some anger management terapy of my own .... I won't sue somebody or such a thing .... are we man or pussys ?
Take photos of your injuries now to show damages. Get a checkup by a doctor to see just how permanent the damages are. File a report immediately with the police. The longer you take to do this, the less likely they will take you seriously. THEN you can start thinking lawsuit if you like. Monetary rewards are usually based on the severity of the damage and the effects those have on your daily life. Like cuts etc., how will those affect your work, etc.. Personally I wouldn't sue unless it's really bad. Lawsuits are not fun, they can really take a toll on you and usually aren't worth it. Besides, someone that acts like that usually doesn't have any money to get in the first place.
yeah make more sense....but if i report it to the police, will they arrest him or somthing?!? what happens after that!
There is no way to know until you call and report it. He could be arrested, he might simply be talked to, it depends on the situation, the community, way too many variables to get any definitive answer on a forum.
Unfortunately if you get out and party with alcohol, fights are common place. Thats what alcohol does to many people, it makes them pissed off and want to fight.
Totally Agree. Here where i live they don't give a F*** if you fight under influence of alcohol... You can beat the hell out of someone without risking any charge, what a wonderfull world Alcohol Turn man similar to an animal and turn women similar to man
I'm from California too, Northern - Sacramento area. I remember when I was in highschool it seemed like there was always a fight at pretty much every party I went to, someone was always picking a fight or cheapshotting someone or throwing beers or jumping someone. In my hs days I was scared shitless of someone bigger than me trying to fight me, unfortunately we live in a violent place with a violent culture (USA culture is disgustingly violent compared to other cultures in the world, I've found from traveling). Unfortunately you probably won't get anywhere with the law. They are pretty lazy and aren't really concerned with silly cases like this. The best thing you can do is take boxing classes and drop his ass next time you see him. Thanks to these classes I have a really solid punch and have chipped a couple teeth in my day. Don't take karate or something gay thinking you're going to be a kung-fu master, you will just get yourself beat up. Focus on solid boxing where you hit the bags over and over. Take my advice, you will thank me for it later and nobody will be fuc*ing with you anymore. If they do, you have a wonderous ability which you can call upon like Superman's super strength. Seriously, do it. When you're going to fight, always be the first one to punch. Just go completely insane, flip the crazy switch in your brain and swing swing swing. Don't ever go on defensive, you will only get creamed. Winning half the fight is all psychological.
LOL...actully i used to box back in England for two years but, i didn't want to carry on with...as i said i chased the guy and torqed him down to the ground by my face started bleeding again...plus he wansn't big at all.... the suing part came cross my mind the day after...i don't think i'll do it.
for some crazy reason i felt like not washing blood with blood...plus all the girls were screaming and yelling at us...and didn't want to make it worse.... next time i'll try it your way bro...
LOL...think whatever you want man... first of all it wasn't a fight...but if i did i get beaten up in a fight i couldn't care less...i have gotten knocked out before when i used to box... both my front theeth are not real so...but i know i can fight unlike most people...
This a problem that involves "battery", a malicious law of tort to hurt someone. This tort doesn't have to be intentional, as long as he did cause you harm. You should be liable to sue. Sounds like you have a case here. But, do consider the jury asking why did he throw the bottle at you even though he had anger management issues. The jury will consider if there is some sort of hidden innuendo that made him threw it at you. Try to find the reason why. If you know the reason why, and you choose to ignore it. Your case might be pretty perilous. Take Care, Janice.
