Got indexed, now I'm off the index?

So I have a new website that is a week old. It finally got indexed on google about 2 days ago. Just the main page, but now when all of a sudden I'm not indexed? Why did they take me off the index?

Would link exchanging with other people have something to do with it? Does google frown upon planned link exchange? Other than that, I don't know how I would get penalized.. I've been building my backlinks slow and have been adding original content...

    you answered the question yourself.
it takes a while for a site to settle down AND for to to show in all data centers.

Yesterday I had 400 pages indexed, today I have 380, its google they take a while to get it right, but when they do its all worth your while :)

Just build viable backlinks to get indexed and you will be awarded big time :)

Agree with above post - keep building backlinks. Submitting your site to social bookmarking sites usually speeds up the indexing process. Then just wait. Unfortunately these things do not happen over night.

Such things are very normal. Sometimes your website might have tens of pages and then all of them getting disappeared and then coming again within a few days. Try adding more pages and links in the meanwhile and wait.
