I have experienced Google indexed DP pages much quicker.
I created a thread on DP "Buy, Sell or Trade" this one time. After 2/3 minutes, I then searched Google for more information of the script that I wanted to buy, and I was surprised to see my thread that I just created 2/3 mins ago in the first page/first position.

There's more than just wordpress going on here. I have seen many wordpress sites setup improperly and not optimized or optimized fully.

There's nothing special about wordpress, it's how it is setup.

Yeah but only because i'm a nice guy and everyone keeps asking.

This works best with Wordpress and is a checklist I have for it. Use what works for you.

    Here's my checklist

    1. Install in root.
    2. Make searchable by search engines. (activate in admin)
    3. Change theme
    4. Install "All In One SEO" - activate
    5. Install "XML-Sitemap"- activate
    6. Set permalinks to custom and /%postname%.html
    7. activate recent posts widget
    8. activate tag cloud widget
    9. theme should include tags under articles. (not just in the sidebar)
    10. Register for feedburner and add feed url
    11. Register for Google Webmaster tools and add sitemap
    12. Register for Yahoo site Explorer and add sitemap
    13. Use this ping list

    14. Write no less than 1 really good article per week. 1 per day is great. 3-5 per day is best. Don't overdue it. Quality, not quantity.

Remember step 7? Don't push your recent posts down too far too fast. Let the spider bots hit them several times on many pages. Let the recent post link stay visible for at least 1 day. Setting the recent posts to 5 articles and writing 5 new articles perday is a perfect setting and rate of speed to write.

Do this, wait a couple weeks, and your posts will be in the a google search within 15 minutes of writing the article. Um yeah, I said that right; 15 minutes! And letting the article set in the recent posts list of links will allow your page to climb the serps (along with many other things happening).

    Happy Pressing!

read the above 14 steps. That's all proper setup that will benefit you greatly. I'm number 5 in google now for my example I gave. It took less than 10 minutes to get the page fully indexed and included in the serps. It took a few days to become #5 position in google. http://www.google.com/search?num=10...Long+Does+It+Take+To+Get+Indexed?&btnG=Search

    see: blog.areawebsolutions.com

I could fight for number 1 position if I really cared about the phrase, but I don't. It's only an example.

And I won't go beyond what to do after proper setup as mentioned in my above post. There's tons of information here that already covers off page seo.

It's also good to create a feed for your site....WordPress already has a built in feed, but you can easily generate one for a regular html site. Then simply ping a site like pingomatic or pingout after you post something (wordpress is pre-set to ping pingomatic I believe) and the spiders will index very quickly.

And the best social bookmarking service I've found for fast indexing is definitely digg.com.

hmm... for me its usually takes around 24 hours to get indexed in google... 5 hours is pretty quick and good... with more work it may also be possible to reach the first page in 5 hrs :D
