Got Check from an Old Company.. Question

    Hi, stupid question. I just got a check from an old company that I owned, nothing big, around $500, but I don't want to just throw it away. I called the company and they can't reissue it in my name.

    What can I do about depositing this check somehow? Im thinking a check cashing place? or something. Any suggestions on what I can do.

    One idea is to go to county, set up a DBA in that company name. Go to the bank, open up an account with that DBA name, and then deposit it.

    I took care of it. Just printed the old corporation papers, and brought it to a check cashing place. And they cashed it.

    Who deserve the check. It was sent to you or by luck you got? if it is for other person, it is better to search him. It maybe, that he is missing the check.

    If you have a bank account you just deposit the money on your account...
