Hi guys, I just curious to know, how many of DP members maintaining blog? What sort blogs they are maintaining? You guys are using it as a marketing weapon or just a personal hobby. I have just started one but would love hear your first.
I maintain several and will be adding more. They are a simple way to add content to a site and I feel like new content is the best way to gain a repetitive audience, which is what I typically seek. Are the blogs a marketing tool? Yes, but sometimes indirectly. I just want as many doorways in and opportunities for get our sites seen as possible. Other important functions of blogs are the easy RSS feeds, which we display in other places, Squidoo for example. These are examples, all niche-related: http://www.chincoteague-island.net/news/ http://www.chincoteaguecharterboats.com/sub/articles/ http://www.daybreakwebdesigns.com/blog/
I run the first two links in my signature about the sport I love best and the team within that sport I think is coolest
I've got about 5 or 6 blogs which have general topics that I like to write about most, and then about 20 more niche blogs that don't get updated nearly as often.
IndianSEO thanks for pointing. I was thinking to post there but thought later I would be adding some more blog marketing related queries, therefore decided to post here. Btw, IndianSEO do you maintain any kind blog and update frequently?
Yeah I have several Blogs (about 15 on B2E scripts and 40 with Blogger) my Blogger ones were for marketting my other sites (from about one year ago) and for Building up my links (so Splogs). My B2E Blogs were made from Dropped domains and I had planned to try out some Paid to Post sites when they've aged a bit.
Most people here have three kinds of blogs 1.) Personal blogs ( namesurname.com)- just random stuff. May include more professional matter if the person concerned wants his name to be known all over the internet. 2.) Niche blogs- Deals with a particular niche. 3.) Auto Blogs- Content scrapers. Not too useful.
Ok, so some of you maintaining blogs. Great. But I am curious to know, how many of you maintain financial blogs?
I maintain a general personal finance blog - this is my recent blog at the top of this post. I also run a squidoo blog that tracks my earnings and offers little tips and tricks over at captainsquid.com
I am maintaining three blogs- two is my hobby (Dog and Cat) and last one is for making money online ...
I run noddegamra.co.uk, an entertainment blog. It aslo covers informative and inspiring topics too. It got re-launched as a blog just over a week ago and has been a great success (Almost 12k uniques now in under 2 weeks). It's great fun, I love posting on it, and the feedback has been very positive. I haven't even begun work on advertising it yet. I might try soon and see if it improves even more
