Got an SEO + PHP coding question for you guys I’m thinking about for some time now.

    Hi all

If I’m using http referrer command on a page, based on an entrance keyword to a page, the http referrer will place different content on the page (not replacing the whole page, but just big part of it).
    Command line is:
    @$HTTP_REFERER

    My questions are:
    1. Can this be considered as cloaking or blackhat technique? This will be implemented on strictly white hat sites.
    2. Can the new content be indexed by search engines – mainly big G (my thoughts are no, since its referrer based on keywords, and bots visit as user agents).

Any thoughts and ideas are welcomed,

    Thanks

thought the rule was that if you present a different page to people than you do to the bots then it WAS cloaking...

Cloaking is sometimes based on http_referrer, so I think if you are going to do that then it is black hat otherwise http_referrer itself doesn't mean black hat...
