    Check to see if the appraisal company is in the US. If so, report them to the BBB and the IFCC. That is incredibly misleading.

    I also fell initially for this scam. This so called REAL and manual appraisal is appalling. The domain value is appraised at the high value to lure you into listing it for sale on their website. I filed a dispute with PayPal and raised it immediately to a claim to ensure that my money won't go into their account. No reply to the claim by the scam people at all. The payments are done though the services of SWREG that advertises as a e-commerce re- seller related of Digital River - both websites would suggest that they should be respectable companies, but why they didn't check that the scam websites process payments with them.

    Forum Domains in Africa.com describes this scam in details - I'm too new on DP to provide the links.

    I got same offer from this guy and at last point i smelled it fishy when he stressed too much on getting appraisal of domain from his website a little research and i find it's a scam. Now i have contacted SWREG which is processing payments for this website and got a response too.

    I have sent them the payment URL and screenshot too. Please inform and lodge your complaint too and if you have made any payments send them your payment details too along with this forum thread URL. Contact SWREG and PAYPAL customer care ASAP.

    The truth of the matter is that is that the buyer who approaches the seller themselves wouldn't demand the appraisal to be done by the seller. Serious and real buyer would do the appraisal themselves if they liked the domain to ensure the value of the deal.

    It's a scam. What's called Affiliate Dog tries to earn commission from making you buy the appraisal. They keep changes names, one of them was www.AuthorizedAppraisal.com, it seems it's all genuine as they process the payments via SWREG. The truth is if the buyer seriously likes the domain and is interested, they should do the appraisal of their own to ensure the benefits of the deal.

    Daniel,
    daniel-zuckerman@website-domain-hosting.com;

    You are 100% welcome to have the site appraised at your cost. I welcome it.

    I followed the link you provided and it seems like an advertisement for that valuation service. Is that a company that you own?

    Thank you for your interest and hope to do business with you in the future (not).

    B T W, what you are doing is considered fraud or at the least, a gross misrepresentation.

    So, have a nice night and remember that these are real people with real families that you are trying to screw out of money that they feed their children with.

    Cheers,

    Yup it's a scam
    Did they recommend, link to, tell to use a certain appraisal company?
    It's useful for us to know so we can sub consciously black list this appraisal company for future prospects.
