It really depends on the category I think, some are busier than others! Also your website obviously, don't submit to them if you haven't got a complete website that is nice and clean and well ordered, they only take in good websites!

What kind of site did you submit? And into which category?

I am assuming some categories are harder to get into, and can depend on how many moderators they have working on that site.

    Congrats by the way.

YES, I completely agree....a miracle...go party....I have been an SEO for 3 years and worked with tons of sites...I have yet to get one site accepted into DMOZ...lol...I work with one site that is a 149 company and about as relevant as you can get for their niche and NOTHING.

    Just curious...
What category was it and what was the site?

No you won't get any mails from dmoz, At least i didn't get any
Category is very important and also your site too
It takes 15 to 30 days
They check your site several times, not only once. I know that from my counter stats
