Right... this might be stupid but i've always wonderd.. ok this is mr a ok mr a has a good idea to build a new data centre in london he wants to know how much it'll cost to build though. he wants to know what he needs he already has; servers & racks and he knows where to get backup from. he wants to know where to get the 100mbps internet speeds. or anyhting else.. how much do you think mr a should pay out to get a data centre built from scratch?
A datacenter built from scratch is $xxx to $x,xxx per square foot. You're looking 80+ million US dollars generally speaking.
I think dougy is a little extreme. It will cost you around then XXX,XXX USD (6 Figures) to start from scratch. You need a building, power source + backup, And Internet connection(Most Costly).

Well, it would generally cost High $600,000's to build the datacenter and local internet providers should be able to provide 100Mbit fiber lines (Just contact them) and you would be looking at 1-5 thousand per line depending on the ISP.
Well I'm curios as to how you guys think 600k would really do this? You would need the building itself, security, wiring, special power wiring because honestly that is the most important because once it is done it is done and never changeable so mr a would want to get some really good specialist on that. He would also want to make sure there are redundant power and cooling systems. I would personally say that you are looking upwards of 1 million USD. Now if you wanted to be a lower class data center then I suppose 600k would work, but if you want a good place where people feel comfortable storing there data and sites then you would need to spend more money. Also when you look at the Lines you are getting make sure they are hooked to good exchanges as well.
