Let's say I want to be number 1 for a certain phrase( I know number 1 is not always best) and I search that phrase and the site at number one obviously has comparable info, but they also have a cool tool that I would be allowed, by them, to add to my site. Now, if I add their tool to my site will that pretty much tell google that site will always be better than mine? Make sense? Thaks
just the sme tool on both sites is not the only thing google will look at, it also looks to see which site is more content rich, which has more backlinks, anyone getting any backlinks from any authority sites, there are lot of factors to consider.
I'm curious why you say "I know number 1 is not always best". Surveys show that the #1 search result gets many times more clicks than #2 does and dramatically more clicks than #3 and lower.
the reason is because its not the number of clicks, its the quality of visitors. most of the times people will click on the first result and take a look, then go to the second site before they make a decision about buying anything. so if someone sells any product, it can be beneficial to be 2nd or 3rd. that can depend on the niche tho. btw, thanks for the rep earlier
Hmmm, it is better if you try to optimize it properly using your own techniques. But basically, SEOs used to build links using the site's targeted keyword as anchor text, or they usually update their site from time to time.
The short answer is no. If the tool requires a link back to the author site, you may want to implement a "no-follow" so you don't pass on any extra link juice boost.
using the target KW as anchor text will definitely improve the ranking on SERPs.. to enoveltysigns.com: i'm curious about the tool that you're referring to.. would you mind telling us some info regarding that?
