Hi I got offers for few of my domain names via email although the prices he says are acceptable he asks me to buy a appraisal certificate and then give me a link to a post in a forum where they discuss about appraisal services. he recommends to go for services that costs more than $60. what should I do.
initially i was offerd $1500 for 12 domains and then $400 for a single one :D

Hit the delete button :) Real buyers don't need an appraisal to tell them what the domain is worth.

It is a scam. He works for the appraisal company he requires you to use and will never buy a domain.

if that was you first time it will not be the last... Do you even know how they found you? I bet you have your contact info in you whois and they just walked there way right to you. Whatever yu do, do not send them any appraisals if you have them. That's how they get paid.

He's an appraisal scammer. Wants you to appraise from his company, then you'll never hear from him again.

His name wasn't Klaus Newmann or something along that line & has a "PHD" by any chance? This guy has been talked about quite a bit on Namepros.

Welcome to the domain business! I've been lucky enough to receive a couple of 'offers' from this guy. First time I strung him along asking him to pay for the appraisal. Second time around I simply offered to sell him the name for $25. That got rid of him real quick.

That's right, there are about a dozen of topics inside this forums where people are saying exactly the same.

Receiving an email coming from nowhere offering money for domains.

A scam that has been around since a while back. Agree with htmlindex, at Namepros you can find further reference on this topic.
