From always I have the idea that tech blogs are best to earn Google revenue. However, I am highly doubtful if this is working well for me.. :| This month I generated 144,491 impressions on the 336*280 sized ad, above post. Till now this ad slot has got 3,394 clicks and in return Adsense is paying me $343.95. Just wanted to know, is this fine? I've a click through rate of 2.35 with $2.38 eCPM. As far as my personal view goes, this is very little as far as earnings from a tech blog's prime ad slot is concerned. Btw most visitors to my site is from India (10% from US and 8% from UK). Is there any other way to influence Adsense CPC? I am also using only 2 ad units (336*280 and 300*250) with a link unit (728*15). Thank you in advance for your replies.
343.95/3,394 = $0.10 I think you are getting good amount of money for each click. Your earnings are fine, however, you may try to increase the CTR a little. Try different colors, ad unit sizes and ad placements and see which combination gives the best results.
Can I see the URL of your blog? Try an experiment for a month...try using a non-themed ad...one without colors matching your site.. I've seen incredible CTR on my crappy looking blog at emailfriends.com
Tech itself is a very wide topic. Try some more topics within tech niche, you might find one with better pay.
That defines, you have more traffic from India. But try to improve the CTR on adjusting the place and color, there is very less that you can do to improve the eCPM.
