Colour, photos needed. Otherwise its clear to find what visitor is looking for. maybe keep the title in H1 black, then add a colour link below just to add some difference between title, link and intro text. I think ad column might colour it up, go for it.
While a bit obvious to an intelligable visitor, the purpose of your site is a bit illusive. Perhaps throw a static paragraph that displays on each page describing your sites goals and purposes. This should also help in increasing your keyword density and content value in the eyes of search engines.
Must...have...photos.... the larger the better -- says the wife. She chooses her gossip sites by the photos; the text is secondary. That is just one opinion, but right from your targeted demo.
Thanks everyone! TheHoff, you wife is right. That's mainly how I pick my gossip sites as well. Now I just need to figure a way to program the site to automatically pull some photos into the posts.
