Hey there, If you use wordpress, then it's usually already automatically added, it's in archive.php If you go to Admin. Widgets. then look for "Archives" if you find it, you may want to drag and drop to your sidebar. Good luck!
I will suggest you not to let google index archive pages like category or date wise archives as they will create duplicate contents in google index. That can cause penalty.
