The domain could easily be seen as registered in "bad faith" with a confusingly similar mark to Google. If Google were to fight it, it would be unlikely that Google would sue you (unless it got very successful before they noticed it). They would have standing (I'm not saying that they would win) to sue for trademark infringement. That could be some very hefty fines, but it would be unlikely for Google to do this unless you had made a lot of money from the domain. The most likely thing that would happen is that Google would register a UDRP complaint. The domain would probably be awarded to Google (though not the site content).

The process that Google prefers for this is not a court issue, rather an arbitration through ICANN. ICANN governs the use of .com, etc. Because the dispute would go through this company, your country of residence will have no effect on the outcome.

    Related Cases:

    National Arbitration
    More National Arbitration
    WIPO Disputes

Of the over 30 disputes Google has been in, they lost one and another was terminated before the decision was made. Those aren't good odds for you.

IMO keep the content away from Google/ A Search Engine and your fine. As long as it isn't strikingly similar, you'll be fine.

Also, if you get contacted, POST HERE FIRST. Don't get caught asking for an offer for the domain and then them having proof of a bad faith reg.

    Good luck, and regards

I did a bit of research on this, and google is not nice about it. When a domain gets somewhat noticed, google has been known to cry about it and always wins. It doesnt even seem to matter if your site is completely unrelated to search engines or google. Many others like myspace and youtube don't care, but google does unfortunately.

I think that just the fact that you posted this thread here asking this question is pretty much proof positive that you...
    1) Are aware of the similarity
    2) Are concerned about googles interest
    3) intend the use of the name primarily because of its similaity

    Nice name
But it doesn' look to good

I do not recommend keeping the domain, it is too similar to Google and Google has enormous financial might to mount an effective legal challenge. Safer to get a new domain and just ditch this. No point getting into such problems.

Any domain with their trademarked name in it would get you into some kind of trouble . May be you should leave the domain because it would create some problems for you in near future if your website gets somewhat hit with public.
