googling link:siteexample.com

    People link to my site. I know this. yet googling
    site:www.solarpowerrocks.com and site:solarpowerrocks.com both return no results....

    There are dozens of links to it or to individual pages... most of which I am sure are indexed.... so. what gives?

    that's because google does not list ALL inbound links. Use Yahoo to check your backlink.

    i think google did not updated link: comment result yet.

    you must wait google to update it.

    and Yahoo does not shows all the backlinks too

    just give the space between link: and your site... it will give result... i just checked your site.
    link: solarpowerrocks.com 85 results and
    link: www.solarpowerrocks.com 7 results
