Google's Sandbox

    Guys, I'm getting desperate.
My site is more than 1 year old and it is still in the sandbox. I've heard that it takes a few months (3-6) to get out of it. What is your experience with the sandbox? Does anyone have a site stuck for more than a year?

how did you determine you are still on sandbox ?
your site must have been penalized if its been 1 year or more..

It is not completely penalized - I can see my site after #50-70 for a number of keywords.
But... when I do a search with this tool (http://roberttaft.com/no_filter.htm) I appear on top 10 for my main keywords...

By the way I am doing very well in MSN - top 10 for 7-8 keywords. Unfortunately nothing from Y & G.

And this probably wont make you feel any better but my site is less than a month old and I get a higher ranking with one of my keywords with the filter (30) than without it (I gave up looking for it so I don't know where it is)

I'm not so sure that tool is very effective.

This might not be that useful, but i heard that if you can get a well known news website for example on a very high PR then this can release you from the sandbox quicker.

That's funny... I'm in a similar situation like you. Our site also appear pretty high on G without the filter for most relevant KWs, it does pretty well on MSN and OK-ish on Y!

However, unlike you, our site was ranking high on G about 8 months ago (and for a whole year before that) and then dropped for no apparent reason.

My hunch is that we're being penalised for something...
    Anyone has any ideas?

    BTW the site is www.diamonds.uk.com

Well I'm sandboxed too... my 6 months will be up on the 9th of this month and we will have to see. Oddly enough another site that I started never got sandboxed and is doing fine.

Simplexity, do you mean a link from a high PR site?
I've got a few PR6 links pointing to my site, which doesn't help much...

    hi all,

is there a way to find out if a website is in the sandbox?
my site is 5 months old and it has been listed very well. now the position in serps went down. I did now changes and no spam.
now I'am search for a way to find the reason. I think it's the sandbox but I'am not sure.

Avallon, kind of. I think it needs to be from a very reputable source e.g. a PR8 news site or something similar. But i guess most most of these e.g. CNN aren't so willing to link to us just to helpus out! ;)
