Google's Ranking Delay

I have purchased a domain for which I will develop a web site in a few months. I am wondering if I go live with a 1-3 page site now, will this start the clock with Google for when they will allow the site to rank? Or should I wait until the site is fully developed and then go live?

    Put up the content :)

As long as you have unique and fresh content, it will be fine. Use robots.txt to block out the bots for your 'Under construction' pages (if any)
