Google's PR algorithms and AdSense bans ->

FACT> Most people consider Google's PR algorithm to be a spectacularly clever, space-age piece of computing genius that has all the nooks and crannies of the internet figured out.

FACT> Many AdSense publishers get banned for mysterious reasons, often cited by Google as invalid clicks.

Many of these publishers are guilty. A few clearly are not, and can provide no evidence as to why they were banned.

Given the sheer number of AdSense publishers, I assume they use some sort of algorithm to track that too. Wouldn't you? It's not like they can assign an ad rep for *every* site. Even if they could, their lookover of a website would be so cursory as to be of no value. An algorithm would make much more sense.

So, this algorithm is clearly flawed. Perhaps not greatly so, but serious enough to warrant a re-think.

The point is: what does this say about their PR algorithm? That's even less trackable by the public than AdSense doings.

In another thread, someone said their personal theory was that the Google PR formula isn't nearly as advanced as they allow people to believe. But the shadowiness and inscrutability make it spooky enough to stay at the top.
