I have co.nr site which is www.freewebspace.co.nr which tells you about free webhosting and only one page has been indexed by Google since I started it on May 2006 I got page rank of 1 on all subdomain pages on the July update and after that ?I exchanged links with some PR sites and to my surprise the page rank of my co.nr site is 1 whereas my directory which is a top level domain has not got any page rank So it is clear from here the page rank and indexing are different things and it has nothing to do with the search engine rankings
You are correct. Page rank does not affect SERPs or indexing. Tool bar page ranks are never live so it's pretty much useless.
but having a high PR definitely helps in getting your site frequently crawled.. High PR means you have high no of links pointing to ur site and it makes easier for web crawlers to find your site while crawling.
Yeah but you can still get links so that google could find your site without getting an increase in PR. Today, I don't think google places much weight on PR anymore for the SERPs. It's just my opinion.
