Google's Page Rank Discussion Thread

Hi i know a little about Page Ranks, but can someone clear me up on something. Can some one please tell me when the Page Rank updates and how i can get a page rank, what do i need to do, eg. more backlinks popularity of link etc.

ps. i also heard of an underground software called PR Storm which spamms links which is suppose to get a you page rank 3 or 4 est. Is this true?

 

Submit your site to directories and blogs etc. If you have a good quality number of backlinks from other site then google might give you pr by calculating pr from other sites.

 

It seems really odd that folks don't have any backlinks and get PR1 / 2 and others have backlinks and are still stuck on zero. Does anyone really know how PR works or is it a well kept Google secret that we're all guessing at??

 

We maintain a few websites but we have a very active search engine optimsiation campaign for 3 of our websites. For these websites we undertake search engine marketings steps on a regular basis. we have seen our PR improve slowly from 0 to 3 in the last 7 months. However we have never seen a drop in PR. With regards to ranking within Google our ranking jumps a lot. Sometimes we rank on page 1 sometimes it moves down to pag4 then again it rises back.

 

I dont think that only PR makes possible to be in top ten. Lots of logic that r recently used to be in top ten.

 

ok, does page impression help the page rank? I have 10000 impressions so far and yet still no ranks

 

No it doesn't matter your page impression, only good backlinks.

 

I have a site (wordpress based blog) at http://flyoni.com. I have been building backlinks mainly by blog commenting,article submission since past 3 months. My domain is about 5 months old. I have about more than 70 backlinks now (using link: http://flyoni.com in google). But still I remained at PR0 in the last page rank update. I cant find a reason, why
I had more than 50-60 links when the update happened.

Looking for some possible explainations.

i love pr at all , if there were no page rank i had no money now

 

I have a site with less than 30 backlinks but has a PR2. Since I created it-a couple of pages, i have done nothing to promote it.
In the last round -Jan 2008 one of our sites with little over 100 back links got a PR2 as well, the domain was barely 3 months old. I employ no tricks at all. Just getting good free links and submitting to directories. This went against known PR myths.

I have created one more site, I want to see if the same can be achieved next update. if that happens, i will let you people know.

 

it would be nice if we could find out when google was going to run its pr update!

 

PR storm is black hat technique, please don't use it ever because that will put you under google scanner for spamming and your site might be banned some day.

Use pure white hat techniques. Blogs, Articles, Press Release, Rss, Comment posting are all valid ways and that improve your page rank too.

You are on DP, keep posting good messages and you will get back links from the signature.

Next PR could be by end of July or Beginning of August, so build links.
if you can do 3-way link build using network of SEOs, that would be good.

Because the Google data center that provides you an information about your Page Rank was on different server and perhaps on different country, like .us, uk or ph.

it seems the minor pagerank update was happen, or your friends PR getting punish from google...

I didn't see any change for my blogs

 

It's definitely punishment for textlink sales.
