Google's Page Rank Discussion Thread

When I lookup my sites PR, mporgsoft.com, I get 2 of Google's IPs reporting me with a PR of 0 and the rest PR 3. Any idea why?

Also, while testing different PR checkers I found a prediction tool. It's fun!

My site is still PR3 up to now and the other one doesn't have any pr.

Do-follow backlinks from high PR sites/pages.

What ? SERP's doesn't depend on Pagerank... its all about quality content.

Sure SEPRs don't depend on pagerank, but there is a correlation. I can write the greatest article ever, but if no one links to it (send PR juice), it ain't gonna rank.

 

I kinda agree with you, I suppose what they mean with
"puff, my site is a pr0 and it still rocks in Google"
is that their site used to have a PR before this and have many backlinks but got penalized by Google of sorta and this reverse psychology forced them to think that way to not really care about PR>

i noticed that google updates its data once a week.

 

link:www.example.com isn't reliable, my site only shows 10 link backs but in webmaster tools it shows over 1400

 

pr is important, however it doesn't update in the toolbar right away. eventhough a pr was assigned by google, you wont know about it until the next pr update. so if you say show me a page with low pr and it ranks high on a competative key word term, it probably already has a high pr assigned to it and will reflect on the next toolbar update.

 

the most common anchor text for my site is verizon fios affiliate program. all my blog pages, categories, tags about verizon have a higher pr than other affiliate programs

 

build a second website. have a programmer create a scrapper for you. run the scrapper based on the keywords, it will pull a snippet of millions of articles out there. Then have that website automatically assign a link for that keyword you scrapped. make sure you link back to the full article (add nofollow attribute). you should be able to get 10,000 link backs fairly quickly. I spaced mine out over 3 month period. Google has given my site credit for over 1400 incoming links from the 2nd site. I use this ona wordpress blog and have a footer plugin where the links also appear on the footer of every page. so i receive credit on each tag page, category page, comment page, and on every page such as 1,2,3 etc. since the scrapper adds new content everyday google updates my page within minutes everytime new content is added. this isn't any different than digg, twitter or any other social networking sites, a snippet of content is added and the link is given to the source. The only difference is that you get anchor text credit and thousands of link backs without having to link exchange.
