    April Fools day happened a few days ago. There was no pagerank update and none of you are fooling anyone.

    EDIT: Spoke too soon. Jeeze, almost no noticeable changes in PR except for internal pages. Nothing went down at least!

    Rumours have circulated in the industry that Page Rank might very well be a thing of the past and disappear over time, with websites potentially being stuck on their last PR for life, for high PR sites this would be welcomed, for low this would be negative. If rumours are true, Page Rank may just be removed and not visible at all, another option for Google.

    Personally speaking if this was to happe, I dont agree with the person being stuck with there last PR, surely this would be an awful thing to do, and the reason why is this: Lets say someone is slowly but surely doing ok, there on a PR3 or so, and then this happens, this person could go on to do tremendously well, and there site could be worthy of a pr7 or so, but is still indicated with a pr3, and vice versa, not fair that a high pr site should always show that, what if they became corrupt and were a bad site, or didnt deserve there high pr any more, they still would show for it.

    So IMO its either keep it, or ditch it altogether, but dont fluff about in the middle.

    Nah its not an April the Fools thing :), but what is the purpose of PR anyway, other than for the use of webmasters, it really is worthless is it not?

    I don't understand this. Why my site which has 300 backlinks and also has backlinks from high PR pages like 3,4,5 got PR1 and another site which has few backlinks from pages without PR got PR2.

    My first main site stayed the same at PR3, hm I was hoping for a rise..
    My second main site jumped from PR3 to PR4, Im really thrilled about that one I've been workin hard on it!
    My new (third) site went from unranked to PR2, a solid start!

    I need more backlinks..as do we all :)
