few days old site - yagh.net has one pr5 backlink is now pr1 and geeksland.net from pr1 to pr2

 

I got increased PR for my inner pages. But home page is same PR5.

 

It seems that the only official way to see your Google PageRank is to install the Google Toolbar. For those of us with an aversion to such things, I’ve set up a web page to give the same information.

Simply go to http://www.may.be/pagerank and enter the URL there.

Maybe someone would not, when is obviously that you are promoting your site. Isn't it?

 

I am? Why would I? There's nothing to promote on it!

As there were 30-odd pages of people saying "Please can you check my rank?", I sat down and wrote a utility.

I have almost 2500 backlinks, and still no PR

 

you must be suffering some kind of penalty from google maybe

 

got pr 3 on two of myblogs (from n/a)...!

 

Maybe the update hasn't touched ur site yet? It hasnt touched mine yet, or, atleast I hope it hasn't !

 

I hope it hasn't touched some of mine yet, though it has crossed a few. Some of my proxies are PR3-4 now (from PR0). Yet, my more popular ones are still PR0 (they also have more decent back links).

 

Pr is nice but really who cares all that really matters these days is serps

 

my blog is still pr0, and has a lot of powerfull backlinks like pr4.. I don't know why hasn+t changed. Where I check if it has been banned or penalized?

 

My 2 months old site, with a single WordPress free theme release is now PR 4 from PR 0.
I've 5000+ back links.

Only real changes I've noted thus far is that the website I run for my BF (he basically just writes about video games) has been updated to a PR3... kind of surprised me since it's only a little over a month old and has maybe 6 backlinks that I know of. Crazy.

One of my newer XXX sites went from 0 to 2, and another went from 3 to 2. Still another is now showing N/A, when it was a 2 a few weeks ago. No idea why, I don't touch it very often and it doesn't seem to be blacklisted by Google or anything, but I don't understand PR terribly well yet so I have no idea, really.

All my other websites are holding steady at their previous ranks.

 

I have one a bit over a month old that went from PR0 to PR6 and it has 7 backlinks.

 

Even more proof that I absolutely do not understand PR... I thought it was supposed to be related to your backlinks? Was Google just in a generous mood?

 

Nah the site got 1 solid PR8 backlink so it got high PR, however it still doesn't rank for anything and gets about 5 visitors a day. Even more proof PageRank is worthless for all but selling links.
