    I have two totally brand-new sites (with really low backlinks) which just launched a few months ago updated to PR4 from PR0 (before the update) which really surprised me! Maybe it's the previous PR of the domain names? But one thing, I guess no one knows exactly what have updated and changed to the PR system and the calculation except for the PR team itself.

    this is where google has really messed up the pr thing, they should really use more caution with newer sites before assigning PR and also maybe make them earn their PR over time instead of jumping up so quickly

    It's quite clear that ,new sites, sites that need review like misbehavior , subdomain etc will have more frequent toolbar pagerank update , than major updates which occur around 3 times a year.

    Generally Google is updating PR on 31st.. hope.. we can see a change in PR today!!

    penalty maybe? Anyway my site's post which recently got indexed is upgraded from PR N/A to PR0. Atleast we can say thats an update too :D
