    I once checked a site which only had 2 backlinks (PR1 & PR3) and had PR5. I could not explain that either.

    I cant believe. This is too early for the PR update. I am having panic. Some of my sites lose pare rank. I am not sure is it finished or this is only dance and not final results.

    page rank depends on many factors as domain age. dofollwo backlink, content match. Permanant links or temproary links.

    I've had several sites jump +1 PR in the last month. Highest I've got is 5, no longer have any 0's :D

    Right now my page rank is 0 with no backlinks being shown on Google. I really hope that the update is still going on :( I was PR4 earlier

    it's on many factors.. i have a not much content 12 yrs old site with PR3, and 6 months old site with PR3.

    u need quality back link pointing back to your site.
    u need regularly updated content.
    u need many more..

    even for PR, I was reading and learning like forever.. u can't base on the fact that number of backlinks alone, but I am sure it counts but it has to be mainly based on natural link building, not artificial such as submitting directories that has no value or link up between your sites, etc etc

    i got 0 to 1 for my blog, it is only 40 days old.

    and my other blog got 0 to 3, It is 2 month old, and not have much content.

    Interestingly, one abandoned site of mine fell from a PR3 to a PR2 in April's PR update but it went back to PR3 today without doing any link building at all for this site. It could be that google has changed the way link weight is calculated (algorithm change) and is rolling over the adjustment to toolbar PR.
