anyone knows how often this update occurs? once a month? once a year?

 

Its like every 3 months or something.

 

This sucks, figured id get some sleep wake up and id see a change but nothing today either; this ones only been up just over a month mind, and is not by any means finished or full flowing, however still wanted a little tickle of PR,

that said id rather stay on the grey bar then move to 0.

Does anyone ever stay on the grey bar post update, if indexed, or is it auto 0

 

good question......I started my site late june and it was on the grey bar but the page rank tool sais the new rank is 0
that means I'll be still on grey bar or it will show 0 ?

 

I've seen PR changes on several sites... it's going through as we speak... not sure how long it takes for all sites to update, but it's definitely updating now.

 

Pr is updating so soon? That is pretty weird. Have to check it out. Weird though.

 

Yeah, some inside pages got different value for PageRank. Main on stayed the same...

 

Yeah Maxi, thats about this size of my predicament too, but from looking again i know that tool doesn't show n/a though, if you put in an incoherent, nonexistent domain name, it will show 0 also. So we could swing either way, personally i hope the swine hasnt landed in england yet. Doesnt seem likely though, others seem to be showing movement on it, ah well, wishful till the end, probably the problem at the start.

Is it possible to add other DC to your tool too?

DP is pr7 now. Congrat!

 

There's not much point adding more DC's, they will just slow down the tool due to multiple lookups and they will just display the same old PR we have been looking at for 3 months.

Does Google not update pagerank in specific locations

For example update America, then Asia, then Europe..if so then would that not mean the tool will only be able to show the future pagerank of websites in a specific area which has been changed?

 

What is meant by the location ? DO you mean it depends upon where the server is located ?

Yeah i am guessing it would be server location.

 

No they don't, they update 1 datacenter then this datacenter will "push" the data to the others. The reason sometimes people see the update in some geographic locations and not others is due to Google's load balancers.

When you do a query for search or toolbar Pagerank, this will go to the "closest" datacenter with the least amount of load. If one of these updated datacenters is close to you, then you see the updated data.

My tool "forces" your query to a specific DC no matter where you are located, and this is the updated DC.

 

Tool does not work on IE either. Don't post broken tools...
