Hey guys. I just wanted to bring attention to a hefty competitor that is posing a threat to google.

It's called the [removed] Search Engine and is located at [removed]

It was recently featured on Comedy Central - http://ccinsider.comedycentral.com/cc_insider/comedy_news_/index.html

Some Points I Like:

* Results are fast, It never takes more than 2 seconds!
* Screenshot of website appears for many listings
* At the bottom of each page you can search other engines

I like it, and I have been monitoring this search engine when managing my seo clients.

Here's a few links for all of you:

The Freekat Search Engine - http://www.IspammedDPsoMyURLgotRemoved.com/

Add a URL - [removed]

Let me know what everyone thinks of it, I like it.

I see no indication that this is a threat to Google.

And it's your site, right?

You didn't read the whole post. It's in print and its on the internet, therefore it must be true :p.

I agree. I love the feature that I didn't use and won't use again. ;)

Highly doubt they are actually anything near a threat. I always did like those screenshots though ;)

Freekat! Wow, that's a great brand. The domain name really talks to me. And, it was featured in Comedy Central too, wow! I mean, that's like the best site for ...... er, comedy?! You must be getting zillions of visitors through them. Hey, good luck with the project dude. Oh, when's the ISP? Do let me know. I missed out on buying Google's shares but won't be making that mistake with Freekat when you go public! :)

.com/search/search/%22gas%20fireplaces%20Toronto%22/1-1.html

The good thing about this engine is that you can't criticize the spam filtering...there isn't any! (By the way, this is the Advanced Search, which gives no other options. You just click on it and it gives you another set of results based on God knows what.)

What I especially liked was the listing for a 1994 Toyota Celica. I'm not sure what kind of gas fireplace that is, but I'm sure you'd get some pretty high BTUs if you started it and then threw a match into the gas tank.

.com/search/search/custom-site-design/1-1.html

187 pages found, eh? Somehow, I think there are more than 187 results in the world.

.com/search/search/SEO/1-1.html

Good to show Google's webmaster info here. If you're going to be a threat to another engine, it's GOOD to send them traffic. Nope. Nothing wrong with THAT thinking, is there kids?

There's a reason it was mentioned on Comedy Central.

well, mine is only 116..

that's weird.. I thought it's scraping google, but it doesn't look like this ..

but I really like the idea of making the pages static.. it's great, more pages will be indexed in google.
I'll try the same thing with my search engine
