I have heard and read various places on the net which talk about how Google puts brand new sites into some sort of sandbox / probation period. Can anyone here explain in a little more detail how that system affects the promotion of a new website? For example, we currently have a website (www.wienerstick.com) which we are trying to promote, and while it appears that Google has spidered and listed a very recent version of the site (ie, the Title was only changed a few days ago and now appears correctly in Google), the site does not register at all for most of our keywords. I'm wondering if this might have something to do with the probation period, and how long I can expect to wait before that "suppression" of the site is lifted. Thanks very much for your help and suggestions. James W.
Honestly, the best way to learn about the sandbox is to do a search here on the forums. There are countless threads about it. To sum it up, the "sandbox" is a word commonly used to explain the method that Google uses to determine whether or not to release a website into the natural ALGO's.
