    I am of the opinion that the algorithm is flawed.

    I have been running a specific keyword for over a year which was made inactive and set to raise to £2.50 from round about £0.20.

    The average CTR is about 20% and increasing. My site is a commercial (niche retail) site with no third party advertising or affiliate links.

    On the second time of complaining Google agreed to review my landing page and confirmed that this was NOT affecting our quality score. The relevancy of the keyword couldn't be greater. Google also said "Please be informed that keywords are often assigned a high minimum bid when entered into an account, as the system does not know how well they will perform." More nonsense as I have been running the keyword for over a year.

    It's absolutely unbelievable! The min bid has decreased to £0.50 now and the average CPC is less than this but I will be keeping a close eye on it.

    What have tried to improve your quality score and reduce the min bid? You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?

    I have to admit I did find this slightly amusing;

    "Crappy site are gone but adwords sucks more then ever."

    And you can't get an ad up for your site:)

    Google can charge whatever they want while you still can find people to advertise. It's all about ROI. In the mobile phone market could spend £ 500 a day on PPC if I wanted to compete with major players.
