It's a free enough country and you're free to leave.

There's no shortage of outbound flights.

I think you perhaps mis-understand Google. This is exactly Google's intent - the algorithm rules the roost and hand "editing" any type of result is frowned upon. Their goal is to run as much as possible algorithmically. Good, bad or ugly - this is one of the ways they intend to continue to scale up their operations.

But I think this whole experience shows the fallacy of that plan. Computers can't do it all...in spite of G's being a bunch of geeks who worship them and think they can do no wrong.

I used to think the world of Google. Now I realize they're the same as Yahoo, MSN, and all the rest: They all get too big for their britches and forget who got them there. Part of becoming a public company with too much cash on hand, I guess. Sad, really.

Oh, if it were all so simple as you say. Really. There are these things like work permits, VISAs, families, and all the rest. I'm hoping things turn around on November 7 and the fascists get put in their place. But if they don't, then as soon as my Mother dies, I'm outta here. And lots of other folks will be, too. It's not the country I used to know...it's now embarrassing to admit you're American when you travel overseas.

My latest blog also talks about it -> http://googlesuccess.com/blog/?p=3

In many ways its an excellent idea. Aslong as people publishing good content aren't affected by G's attempts to stop click arbitrage.

Post the URL's of sites which you have had affected so we can analysis & compare plz!

Hey, work permits and VISA's are issues with your destination country.

Maybe Canada will give you political refugee status.

You know it and I know it, but they will continue to pretend like it isn't true. They have the momentum now, but evenutally it will degrade by virute of superior competition (then we all win) or their ultimate demise with self inflicted wounds (most likely in my estimation).

This site is nearly identical to mine - same service and virtually the same content/quality - and will give you a good idea of what I am offering without tying my posts here to my site - you never know when Big Brother is watching:
    http://www.justlisted.com

Here are some sites (chosen randomly) that are still being listed:
These examples of sites that are listed on page 1 in adwords for my main keyword:
    AnyTown MLS Listings

This one is a fine example:
    http://www.lowlender.com
Absolutely, positively, IRRELEVANT to the keywords.

Ah, yes, another fine one. That quality control is really working for you, Google:
    http://www.deanmccollum.com
I have nothing to say on this other than WTF?

And the third random site I chose:
    http://www.topagent2000.com
It appears to be relevant, and I guess it is, but it's just affiliate marketing for HomeGain's site.

So, let's just say that I continue to be furious over this and that in my eyes it proves the fallibility of a computer algorithm when you are talking about something like advertising. It's not about 1's and 0's and it never can be broken down to something that simple. Yahoo/Overture has it right on this, I'm afraid - you need a human to scan all ads/landing pages for quality.

Well I got reviewed and I got reinstated, if thats the right word. They have even offered me one of the optimisation reviews.

It took an email a day - not pestering just replying to them each time they replied to me. Eventually (after much argument) my account manager saw my point of view and requested the review.

No real explanation as to why they finally relented although they did ask me to amend a couple of the ads which I have done as it was no detriment.

If the 2ads" were the problem I just dont understand why they didnt just tell me in the first place rather than sending canned answers and constant referalls to the blog.

yipeee - my sales are back to normal today as well

Google will drive ther arbitrage sites out, but they will also drive everyone else out. When they realize they have to go back to sensible rates, the spammers will just come back too. How in the world does Google think this is going to help? The spammers, in fact, will be back before the non-spammers.

By the way, now that Google is public and a "quarterly whore," they can't let this go on long. If they do, they could take a hit a lot bigger than just losing some Adwords money.

That is their lame attempt to drive down support costs. What they don't seem to realize is how it drives down profits.

Well, they haven't come in under expected earnings yet. This is why I predict it can't last long. ... 99% of the people who buy Google stock have no idea about what we're talking about in this thread.

    5 figures = more than £10,000 but not more than £99,999 :D

anyhow it don't matter as I am not spending it at all, it is savings for my home in Buffalo Niagara :)
