Hope that Google will not withdraw from the Chinese market, but from information published blog view, Google is just off google.cn, does not affect other operations because the cn domain names, government controls too much!

China's Government must modernize with it's economy, censorship doesn't work in the long term.

They need a tough stance rather than their 'laws' of censorship be respected.

well, i can tell this much that google is NOT moving away from china. lot of facts to consider here. google "claims" of a cyber attack and also says no sensitive data was compromised. it is interesting to see that the day google announced the cyber attack, the same day google removed the sponsorship on their search results as well. now their so called "new approach" got public sentiment involved and made the chinese gov. the villain. google was struggling in china anyways with the censorship and baidu being their biggest competitor. this is a market that google cannot turn around from so could it be just a publicity stunt to set the stage on pulling the censorship from the search result and to make their presence in china a little more solid?

my bet is google will not cease operation .. they will be some compromise.. but it will be business as usual... this will pass and become a non-event in a matter of weeks.. it has already disappeared from yahoo front page as of today

IMO, Google can afford the loss, but doesn't want the repercussions that will result should they continue serving China.

I disagree. Google could ultimately be worse off (as well as many Google users) dealing with Communist China. They have to protect their employees, and have an obligation to thier gmail users privacy and safety. Google cannot police the Chineese government.

I don't think Google will leave after all the dollars they have put in China's business. Just a bluff out of the business need, to get what they want, say no more censorship?

I agree with the view expressed by 'sultanofseo' and the fact that China is too big a market for Google to completely shun! It might be a well thought out tactic to perhaps show its unwillingness to do business under such tough environment and in the process force the Chinese govt. to softer some of its restrictions! :)

The information is ture, we cann't visit the Google Official Blog now, and the next time, we cann't visit the google.cn. Ennnn... so sad.

Google change the way to request information, change our living habits, but now...

Her gone hasn't bring anything except Despairing & Pity.

As a common people, I don't want to let Google leave. :(

As things usually go against sb.'s will... :(

They have to think it out very carefully, once they move out it's very difficult to go back.
