I doubt that Google has found a sustainable fully automated solution to the Google Bomb problem yet, although Matt Cutts says so in his blog. In the past few weeks, during an SEO contest between the German SEO community, the Google Bomb phenomenon was proven to be still active in the SERPS, at least as a temporary issue for about one week, when a website totally unrelated to Search Engine Optimization was bombed to #1 for "SEO" in Google's (German language) SERPS by a huge amount of inbound links containing the anchor text "seo". The affected website was actually about a gay man posing in Strings - couldn't be more unrelated to the corresponding search topic.
And just to further back it up, now that the page has been re-cached without that text, it no longer shows up in the search. The "fix" really wasn't all that clever, but it was elegant. More surprising is that it took them that long to think about it. Must have been the Googleplex distractions keeping them from seeing it. Side note... speaking of perks at Google, does anyone know if the GoogleBordello is still in beta? Don't hear much about it, but in all the pics of the complex everyone sure is smiling alot... -Michael
