Not sure how many of you are aware of this sudden change Google made with their algorithm. It has caused some shifting of positions & rankings for online businesses... some gained a good position while some suffered.

You can read the whole CNN report here about the impact that Google has imposed.

From what I understand, there is a lot of emphasis being placed on grammar and spelling in their new algo. What are you seeing?

I didn't notice the link you included posted. Good stuff and it sheds a lot of light on how things can simply shift. You spend a lot of time and resources trying to make it up high and then the plug get pulled. I guess a good topic of discussion is methods of retaining visitors that come from Google. Social Sites don't seem to care about Search Engine placement. The return on visitors has to be respected.

    Good read.

I'm sure Google keeps track of just about anything they can, but I've heard they are places more emphasis on Bounce Rate and how quickly someone clicks the "back" button after coming to your site from a Google search.

Just another bump in the road to quality, The old adage Content is King is rearing its ugly head. I personally welcome it as it weeds out the amateurs from search and also kills a lot of offshore spammy seo. Bring it on Google

That would be great because those people are not good visitors on our end either.

I agree, if things work the way they seem, it is an improvement. Those seek an easy means to content will pale in search engines to those that awake and find the time to write for themselves or pay writers. I was shocked to see some of the websites noticing a drop on the CNN report.

bad grammar content = ban. End of.

    You {substitute|replacement|backup player} the wrong word in your {sentence|prison term|jail time} you will get {banned|band|wedding ring} *

    * this sentence has been spun with a cheap collaborative spinner. $80 of non-English speaking wannabee marketers supplied the synonyms free.

Yeah it really does. And for me it's not doing good as of now,
but since Google dance is always there we can never say.
