    Hi,
I'm doing a little case study on Seo Sultan about the Google Bug that occured earlier today. For those that don't know what happened - it basically caused all sites to be flagged as malware and made it harder for users to directly visits sites.

I want to know how this hurt your traffic and also your adsense earnings amongst other things.

You don't have to give specifics (like amounts, etc), I just want to know whether it has hurt your business, unexpected decreased earnings, lowered traffic significantly, or maybe even heard complaints from users that your site had malware.

Please post your opinions, thoughts or any concerns arising from it. Thank! :)

It lasted 40 minutes to be exact, depending on your site and traffic it could have been quite damaging as those with morning traffic rushes would be more likely to have been affected. I'm thinking countries where it was 8:00pm when this happened.

So far the effect seems minimal, the unknown variable seems to be how it will hurt a sites image with users who believe that site to be harmful to their computer. That's the sorta thing that you won't really ever know.

Not exactly minimal. The earning for the day dropped at least 20% for me.

but are you sure that's based on a lack of traffic or just coincidence?

I guess technology / Internet related sites must have got higher traffic because of the confusion, for example even DP became unstable for few minutes after it happened as more than usual number of visitors accessed the site in hope to find out more about the problem.

Excellent day earnings-wise yesterday. One thing to think about is how stupid are people? When they see that every site in their search is flagged, they might become suspicious. So, it would depend if your site caters to those people who have the capability to think for themselves. Mine do and I experienced a very good day traffic wise.

The other thing to consider is that what happened would level the playing field. EVERY site was tagged that way. So either people would just not go anywhere (I doubt that) or they have an even chance of going to your site as they do to someone elses.

My earnings fluctuate quite a lot sometimes but I didn't really notice much different due to this problem.

As long as everyone knows it is a bug. Adsense will come back as normal.

Hmmm, if I consider how much I earned in last business days... Yeah, my earnings reduced a little, too.

I didn't realize it, because my earnings in last days are greater than one or two weeks ago, but today I earned less than yesterday. I agree.
