Has anyone heard about whether or not Google's GWA (google web accelerator) affects ads on you page? I haven't loaded it up and I won't either. I find it strange Google would develope something like this...... Then again
GWA generates impressions on webpages, so whats stopping it from clicking on online "ppc" ads on your site? Not only that, Google's Marissa Mayer told SEW: "that when Google prefetches a page, webmasters will see a Google user agent in their user logs. In other cases, GWA will proxy the traffic of the GWA user." Isn't that giving a fast proxy for site rippers? Check out this from from techdirt. com "However, one very interesting side effect. Using the Google Web Accelerator with the MS Firewall Clinet allows me to bypass Websense and acceess blocked sites from inside the corporate firewall." I think Goolge should squash this one!
Boy I get hot under the collar about this GWA. One more thing before I settle down. I block anyone from using my sites that use GWA! The reason being is every user that has installed GWA and visits my webpages increase my server load. Google doesn't have to pay for this I do! I wonder how all the other webmasters feel about this?
