My company was recently profiled in the media (tv & paper) regarding the online businesses and services that we were offering and how we have built some of our products. I contacted Google indicating they may see a big increase in traffic on my sites, taking precautions to not get banned. Their email to me was laughable or at least I think it was. They talked about not being able to provide me with the information I have requested on invalid clicks, and that I should take precautions to prevent such actions in the future. They then pointed me to do some "google searches" on webmaster resources to "better protect my sites". *sigh*
I expect a significant increase in my site traffic. Do I need to report it? We understand that your site traffic may significantly increase for various reasons, and that you may feel you ought to let us know. However, there's no need to notify us of a surge in activity, as we continually monitor all clicks and impressions on Google ads to prevent any abuse of the AdSense program. Rest assured that we'll monitor your situation closely, and that your account is being properly credited for all clicks and impressions we consider to be valid. https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=62472&ctx=sibling
There is obviously a disconnect with their support and their knowledge of the TOS, as well as the way google reacts to a surge in traffic. I've gotten messages that they have noticed an increase in traffic and the number of clicks on my sites .. yadda yadda yadda type messages. Then when you take the time to email them they give you this rhetoric. Plus, it took them 5 days to reply and I get the "take precautions to avoid invalid clicks" stuff. I can say that the support I have received latel is NOT anywhere near what I think it should be.
I don't consider the Google Adsense support as the good one. I have not yet received the PIN and have mailed them two to three times but didn't get any response. I have generated the same for two times now.
TARFFIC SURGES DOESNOT RESULT IN A BAN !!. I have first hand experience, multiple times. I never felt the need to contact google, neither did they. My adsense earning varies from $4 a day to $96 on another but my account still going strong. As long as there are no invalid clicks and you have a decent conversion rate, the account shouldn't face any problems.
Yeah adsense really do have poor support when it comes to asking anything above the basic. I asked about PHP parsing coding changes and they sent one back with a cut and paste on rules The problem is, whether people know it or not, the chances are if you have a PHP website it automatically parses and re encodes the google ad, leaving your code in violation of googles terms of service. Millions of sites use PHP so I couldnt see it being a problem, but tehy could at least clarify. My other query was asking if it would be possible to insert the code <p></p> so my search box listed the websites vertically instead of horizontally, I got teh exact same response.
As most people are aware compared to the Euro and the Pound the Dollar is very weak. Recently howeer the UK has joined in on the recession, losing around 25% of its value against the Euro, though holding steady with the Dollar. Now due to the British steep decline it is more than reasonable to assume (Especially with new US investment) thet the dollar will rise against the Pound. The question is has anyone else been following the currency markets and put a hold on payment in hopes of a better interest rate from dollars to GBP?
Yes me too, ive put my payments on hold from last month... I think its only a matter of time until the dollar gets stronger against the pound. Just like in '92 (I think), the dollar was at a similar rate against the pound as it is now... then a year later it became stronger. If you dont NEED the money right away I think its well worth putting the payments on hold for a while. It could be a month or it could be a year but ultimately you will make substantially more .
Just today i received a Adsense Team email asking about their support etc If its good, bad, etc etc Never heard about it before.. First time. And a few days ago received a personal email from Adsense support. Not the tipical cut and past. pretty cool After all there's life in there!
It was all programmed 12 years ago by Standford, the wrote all the faqs, bought the servers and lauched the Google AI system. Then they threw away the keys and walked away. And Matt cuts is actually a surprisingly 3D realistic animated robot.
I have always that feeling they are the big bosses there and they do not have to respond for every single issue. That is the reason I do not contact them anymore.
Google doesn't care about your site getting more traffic and things like this. You shouldn't have email them in the first place. But I have to agree sometimes their emails are just silly.
I believe that all responses are generated automaticly. I've made a test once - I wrote them that I'm a teenager and I have problems with one part of my body, and is it normal in my age ? (you know what part ) And in response after one day there was an answer "our specialist will take a close look at your problem, we're working on it etc, etc" - so they really don't read it
jessicalynn is right. When you're in doubt it's much faster to ask your question here in DigitalPoint. In most of the cases you will get an instant reply. No tech support can beat DP reply times
What a bunch of nonsense. The only thing that is a bigger joke than google's support is the rates that they pay. I am always baffled at why so many people are fighting over pennies.
