Ok, I know no one knows this for sure --- but if you had to make an educated guess on the % weight of Google's "formula" -- what would you guess? Im about 2 months into SEO... im a "Newbie" at this --- but here's my early guess, and I'm sure it will change as the month's move-on: - 40% Backlinks - 20% Domain Name - 20% Keywords & Content - 10% Age of website - 5% PageRank - 5% Other I know this is controversial --- but what would be your estimates???
its nearly 5 years of now m into SEO and still m a newbie ... here is what i think: 99% Content 0.5% Only Quality Backlinks 0.5% All of the above u mentioned !
Hi dpking --- very good advice The thing is, I notice so many people put so much emphasis on links Ok, so when I search SAN FRANCISCO CONDOS This CRAP website comes up first www.soma pro.com/ Their content STINKS... but they come up #1
PR is worthless trust me Backlinks count way more then you think And content .... Content + backlinks -> Good rankings and very happy site owner
I agree with w3bmaster, quality backlinks + quality content are how its done, you'll notice majority of the sites that rank high in Google don't even do SEO.
Quality and relevant backlinks combining with content and definitely the age of website does matter to some extent. - 40% Backlinks - 30% Keywords & Content - 20% Domain Name - 10% Age of website They are using black hat seo techniques
i agree content is king , if you rank higher in google but still bad content , its no use getting traffic from google @DinoCagney why are you gray
45% content (good content will generate good backlinks) 45% backlinks 5% history & other 5% how much your competitors know about SEO domain name counts for nothing This article from seomox has a whole bunch of info which I reckon is pretty accurate http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors
indepth you are right but you are talking about natural links this way. Else, it should be 70% for backlinks and 20% for the content.
