On Wednesday, Google's Eric Schmidt will be explaining Google's "Do No Evil" position in the senate hearing, entitled "The Power of Google: Serving Consumers or Threatening Competition?" targets the activity at the heart of Google's livelihood: search.

Do any DP members believe that Google is abusing it's position in Search?

I think it's like with Microsoft - everybody thought that they are "forever".

Then came Google and opened a new market - market of searches. And people started to say that this is also "forever", and no one can become another king of the hill.

Then came the Facebook - and opened a new market - market of social interactions.

My point of view is that there is more than enough place for everybody.

I think that Google has done their marketing part very well, and they want to give an impression by their excellent set of services that they are an integral part of the web, and every ones life who do searches on Internet, and that may be correct but they are not indispensable.

Right now they might not be abusing their search power but it happens often that with time, some "evil" creeps in big corporations. And Google is not prone to such type of "evil".

Maybe. Because a lot of people use Google and it's up to Google what they want to show to its search result.
