Guys can someone tell me what is Google aging delay?? Heres the story. My site is already no.1 in many keywords " how to start a nursing agency" " nursing business guide" starting a nursing business" for 4 months. but just last week i didnt see my site anymore in that keywords even not in 1000 results. But still indexed. Someone tell me its because of google aging delay.. Please tell me if my site will still comeback in serp??
I've never heard of that...I think people come up with these terms to sound important....When your site is new it is common for your rankings to be volatile
They were probably talking about the "sandbox" - a filter that applies to highly competitive keywords. It doesn't prevent you from ranking well, but doesn't factor in your backlinks when calculating SERPS. Backlinks will show, PR will pass during this time. Since backlinks are an important part of the google algorithm, it can't make it very hard, if not impossible to rank for highly competitive keywords (it doesn't apply to less non-competitive terms). Google also places quite a bit of weight on the age of the site. It's pretty common for a new site to rank well for a short period of time and then completely fall out. Use the DP keyword suggestion tool to find keywords that will bring you traffic. Ranking in the top 10 for a keyword no one searches for isn't worth anything - i.e. wordtracker shows 2 searches a day for "how to start a nursing agency" - which means you would be lucky to get a couple of visitors a week for that phrase. Don't use quotes when you search for your rankings. The key to ranking well is getting backlinks from authority sites (sites that already rank well in your sector). Rankings are a process, not an event. Six months isn't "old" in google's mind. Good luck.
Yeah, you are probably in the sandbox. Typically, they say that the sandbox lasts about 6 months to 1 year depending on the competativeness of the phrases your are targeting. Don't worry, it will take just a little more time. I'm still in the sandbox too....
Clyde, Here is a thread that I liked that describes the sandbox phenomenon about as well as any that I've read... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=71522 Hope this helps... Starke
Well not everybody. If your site is new and for highly competitive keywords, take it slow. These days everybody wants to catch the running adsense train and jump on acquiring 1000s of BLs within few months - which raises Flag at Googles end. I launched a site almost 5 months ago and worked on less competitive keywords - so now my site ranks within top 30 (not 10 yet), and brings OK traffic. And meanwhile I am slowly acquiring authority BLs for those highly competitive KW too. Result: No Sandbox for the site and I doubt that after 6 months from the launch the site will end up in Sandbox.
The sandbox only affects certain highly competitive keywords. Since you aren't ranking in the top ten for any, how could you possibly know you aren't in the sandbox?
I have not obtained highly competitive keyword anchored BLs. As I mentioned - I am slowly steadily gathering BLs for highly competitive KWs. Meanwhile, the lesser competitive I rank fairly well - it is general article site so I have hundreds/thousands of kw/phrases to work on
I'd have to agree with you... you are probably not in the sandbox... which, some people claim that well designed and certain sites do not fall into. Usually, the sandbox effect is used to describe competative keyword phrases with say an overture rank of 1000 searches or more. The more competative, the longer the 'sandbox' period. If you are ranking for these words after a few months, still, you are probably not sandboxed. You may be for other keyword phrases though... For my site, I rank well for certain phrases, but the more competative ones, I'm nowhere on the radar... could it be the sandbox... well I'm hoping that it is... ... Again, it's a guess, no one really would know the details unless you are part of the inner google circle... who knows if there is really a 'sandbox' after all...
