Google's 2007 Q4 PageRank (PR) Update - 10/13/07

my pr was 2 and now it has been dropped from 2-1.since its a 8 months old site nothing happened.its still the same

 

Is the pr helpful in internet marketing. I found some of the sites which has a very good traffic but the pr will be either 0 or less than 5. Can any one explain this.

 

I heard from one of Guru said that PR is just like branding or reputation. It has nothing to do with traffic.

yes, its really nothing to do with traffic. alexa is the one who rank for traffic. google pr is like technorati that depends on backlinks.

 

That is not entirely true. PageRank is assigned to pages based on trust and importance. Those with higher PageRank tend to be listed at the top of the search results, which equates to increased traffic. But traffic measurements are not used to determine PageRank to the best of my knowledge.

well, most of the people here saying they lost pr.
but my 4 sites got PR from 0 to 3,3,3 & 2 .

for futur it looks quite positive.

 

one of my sites went from 0 to a 5 but the one that gets 30k hits a month went from 4 to zero, and sites i havent touched in months went from 0 to pr 3 so dont try an figure out Googles reasoning for all there crap.
but since my page rank droped the traffic hasnt gone down 1 bit

There was a PR update today. WOW pretty early!

 

YES a PR update.
A site that was PR 5
dropped to PR 4 when there was that funny update in Autumn.
I dropped tonnes of juice due to penalty / serps
Moved back to PR 5
Gonna watch TV as it is abaout as important and reliable as PR these days

 

2 of my blogs hompages stayed the same pr4 & pr3 , gained a couple of inner page pr , just noticed my sticky thread on dp got a pr4 = http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=574508

 

most of my 0 pr sites changed to pr 1

One of the main reason for dropping rank can be connected to penalties associated with buying and selling links which is condemned by google.

 

We are on a forum on which we make business. With all the respect, what you wrote above is NOT an argument for buying the product.
