Google's 2007 Q4 PageRank (PR) Update - 10/13/07

I lost my PR all together on one of my directories. It is the 1st one in my signature. The site still ranks #6 on Google for real estate agents, most of the month. There is always a few days that I can't find it, but it always comes back.

Wait, am I missing something or has there been another PR update, ie. not that of late October 2007 but a new update in December '07?

That's what I'm wondering. The previous few pages seem as if there has been. Unless of course those who have posted are illiterate. But I've never heard much about it, none of my sites have changed PR and I've noticed no visible PR difference of any site I ever visit. Unless, of course, that is just coincidence and there really has been, but as for now I am seriously doubting that.

 

@Spider-Man, the PR-drop of many well-known sites was a big issue 8 weeks ago - just go back to the beginning of this thread ...

On reflection, I am still unclear what happened to the rest of us. My PR stayed the same, but my SERPs collapsed from position ~3 to ~610, strangely impressions were still at 70%, but earnings collapsed to 15% of before.

I made a strong effort to organically push up the SERPs ... so now I am back to where I was in August 2007 ... but still only 65% of what I was getting in early October...

Still wondering what really happened ...

Why was this thread stickied? I do not see the significance in it.

Maybe your pagerank was dropped due to someone else submitting your links to other websites that were of lower pagerank?

 

same here, i was on the first page (#7) for keywords "free ecards", and the site was getting huge traffic and i could practically live on adsense only, now i dont even know where is it and traffic / revenue went to about 10% of what it was before. PR stayed intact, but for that site i needed traffic not pr

Exactly same for me - PR same, but SERP crashed... and with that the traffic and $s

Your site now seems to be at SERP 797 for "free cards"... I am amazed you get any traffic at all

When this happened to me ~26 Oct, the Google traffic vanished overnight. How do you monitor how you get your visitors?

My pr was 5 and getting 1 without any reasons.....mb Google ban some of my links

 

sorry i mistyped, it was #7 for keywords "free ecards" (site is 28freecards.com) which is why it got so many visitors, it's a pretty popular niche, especially over the holidays. I still get visitors because I have a network of sites, and i placed banners / links on most of them, so i see in awstats that most traffic comes from loreleiweb.com and toptut.com (my other sites with high traffic), but it is still nothing compared to the whole world searching for "free ecards" and getting my site under their nose.

when it happened i didnt even understand SERPs collapsed, i seen one morning measly visitors count and thought the site was down... lol

Why does my site keep dissapearing from google rankings and then coming back?

 

can i know the url ? most probably it would be a blog.

 

Also, my sites are currently PR1 and predicted PR6. Should i expect good SERP rankings only when the PR is updated in the next Update and my site goes to PR6?

 

my page rank has remained the same for all of my websites...

 

my pr and positions improved with the last update.

Now also showing #3 at google #1 at yahoo and msn for mma directory and #3 at all for mixed martial arts directory

Havent noticed any negative effects
