Google's 2007 Q4 PageRank (PR) Update - 10/13/07

Just used digpagerank.com, and seems like the PR system is back up.

 

My Site Went From PR5 To PR6

 

For last three sites I've check was showing "PR N/A".

No idea what is going on .

 

The update is not yet complete is what I understand. These pagerank checkers dont have proper info yet. Let the update fully get over.

 

Here is a thought.
What if the c server of your incoming link was weighted based on region, and referenced to where your actual market is.
Thus is you are selling website services in Texus and you have a tonne of backlinks from Calcutta......
I have a suspiction that the algo has changed to look at the region of the link and dropping it based on that.
Thus it is more likely to affect anyone who has done a directory submission for instance.
So in theory you could submit a competitors website and drop their page rank, but it would have no effect on serps.

 

2 week ago my hosting site went from PR0 to PR3, digpagerank.com shows PR N/A now.

check this out , thats my friend's domain , it was updated to pr 1, 2 weeks ago.
now back to pr0.

u will see , the google servers will show 0 pr , but smartpagerank's server will show pr 1 image.
means google was decreased pr of sites again , but some sites like smartpageranks havent updated their database , so they will still show the earlier updated pr.
well , i hope google updates the pr again soon..

 

Man, the only tool that really matters when you try to find the page rank of a site is GOOGLE TOOLBAR.

Bingo! Google toolbar is there for a reason Page rank is a number, its not worth all the hype it gets.

My pagerank has increased from 0 up PR3

 

It's kind of funny. I have two blogs with funny PR. The first blog drop from PR3 to Unranked. However I notice certain section in this blog remain at PR3! The second blog - is only 2 months old. The home (example- http://www.xxyyyzzzz.com) PR 0, but one of the category (example - http://www.xxyyyzzzz.com/category1/) is PR2. I'm kinda curious. I know different post tend to have different PR but I rare seen something like this prior to Google updating its PR.

Does anyone here seen something similar or experience similar funny PR at their sites?

 

Ditto. That is what matters because all PR updates end up reflecting in the toolbar.

 

I agree. It showed insufficient backlinks for my site and then once the update went through all of a sudden, I was up 2 levels of PR.

 

Oh well, PR is Google's Secret. In such a case, you cannot trust an iWeb. Period.

 

Good News!!!! for digpagerank fans and for those who live there. Its back and working like a charm.
