I agree with you zoro, that is what google is trying to do, link selling has become something everyone is doing from blogs to directories, well no more from googles point of view, anyone buying links or selling links, both parties have been panelized in the last couple of weeks. although some of us might hate google for doing this, i believe its a good way to weed out crap sites and get our SE's back into showing relevant search strings based on content.
Content rules the web or at least thats the direction google is taking.

does anyone have any thoughts. my site went from a pr2 to a pr3 and I've basically lost all my google traffic. Almost looks like my site has been banned. Doesn't make sense. my site is usuniversityreviews dot com

    Their algorithim definitely shifted.
But as for the "banning" don't sweat it. You have 15,300 pages indexed. Bannings I've had are like 8000 pages - > 0 pages.

I read somewhere that Google is making changes where they detect that paid links are involved. Question - what if you have non paid links but the site you are linking to sells links??

Second question - I have been working my face off creating links etc for my site for 3 months but have yet to see SE traffic. I must be missing something. What am I missing?

    Good article.
    It makes sense.
    Logical and well written.
The only thing I disagree with is whther it will discourage sales of links.
If you think of them as houses, it will make no difference. It will cause a price drop in link value............and encourage even more sales!

Since when does simplicity make error? Your not thinking like Google, your thinking like a little guy who wants to argue a point with somebody else. You have done absolutely no research(I have), you present no points(I do), you present no arguments against my points(yet you call my research lies) and last but not least you will not refute anything i say other than to say stupid nonesense like "Your theory is too simple" - give me something man, prove me wrong, I WOULD LOVE to be proven wrong.

My theory is confirmed by research which you can easily replicate... so far nobody has come up with a logical counter theory... if people will believe evolution with all the holes it has in it I think my theory which so far is pretty sound should be accepted... that is unless you can prove me wrong. Again I would love to have you do just that.

I offer seo consultation... give me a couple hours and I can guarantee i'll find the cause... it had nothing to do with the PR though I can guarantee that... Google is inflating worthless sites and deflating good sites so PR will be totally useless.

Right and I agree... the marker will drop but will paid links? I doubt it...

I didn't say it was wrong because it was too simple and leave it at that. I pointed out the ABUSE that would result from that simplicity.
I have done research, and I'm sorry, but you really present none of your own, and offer not a single technical cause. Just a possible social cause. Congrats, that's worthless.
Your post just kind of rambles about warnings Google gave, and complain at the general SEO community...that does not help anyone.

I am not here to debate why Google shouldn't have done something or how stupid it would be for them to do it so they must not have done it... that is irrelevant. I see something, I research, I post about it.

My post was obviously not thoroughly read by you as I did neither ramble about warnings by Google or complain about the seo community... two points which show your ignorance and arrogance... people like you don't look into things... if you did and could prove me wrong you would. So far you have done nothing but say my theory is too simple and needs technical causes(whatever that means:rolleyes:)

To refute your ignorance I am part of a couple of the largest seo communities around and well respected in each. So me complaining about them... - only an idea somebody who didn't read my article but only skimmed through could have gotten - is quite a foolish and ignorant statement.

If you want to keep any thread of reputation you ever had you might want to stop this argument... sure some will sympathize with you but anybody who thinks for themselves and who does a little research will see how foolish your posts have been. So far you have ignored all my pleas for your side of the story... all I get is nonesense replies on how I am wrong and you are right even though i don't know exactly what "right" is as you won't enlighten us.
