    No, that's the point, only backlinks I have are 1 PR4, 2 PR3 and a couple of PR0 backlinks. Anyway, I'm happy with my PR6 :p

I guess Google made some changes to make their algorithm even better. Most of you that complain about PR dropping down, have bought links, did link exchange or broke Googles guidelines in other. I think these guidelines are very good and they don't bother the normal webmasters. However, there are really some mistakenly devaluated sites, but Google is just starting to improve it's algorithm.

I'm good with this PR update , since most of my sites are following the guidelines, and they have small but good increase in PR. If you are honest and good webmaster, you will eat the fruits of your work. :)

And these of you that got mistakenly drop in PR, don't worry, it will be increased gradually. Just don't cheat. :p

Yes, I have sites which do not follow Google guidelines, but I don't expect them to get high PR. :D

it is total absurdity to say I have done something wrong by listing my small and petty website in a couple directories. I provide a service for my co-workers and my community and for a major company like Google to penalize me for trying to promote my site is like a person killing ants. I have hundreds of backlinks but Google doesn't include them because the sites aren't quality, although they are totally relevant. I have used adsense to be able to afford my server and give donations to our causes but now my income is decreasing rapidly because most of the sites that advertise on my website are search result scripts and other MFA sites. give me a break! When are they going to be penalized?
I have done nothing wrong to deserve losing page rank on most of my internal pages and the possibility of losing search hits. I have dance for them and jumped through their hoops and as far as I'm concerned, they can KMA!

I have several websites that have just gone through their 3rd PR update. A majority of my current backlinks were in place prior to the 1st and 2nd update but remained PR0. They are now PR2. The only thing I've done since the last PR update is add a fair amount of original content.

Hopefully this means google is now favoring content over backlinks. Look at everyone who buys backlinks just for the PR when they could be putting that money into content for their sites. I like what I'm seeing and I hope it stays this way.

    Ya right!

I 've been working hard on my web site for one year - just adding content and building natural links and it's still stuck in PR4

    PR doesn't mean anything anymore

Honestly i believe the more important thing people should worry about is Search engine ranking, best way to achieve that is to focus on key words and content. PR is interesting but it isnt worth the trouble, maybe someday it will be. But its not now

I am concerned about search engine ranking. until I know what the outcome of all this will be I need to be prepared to lose 30% of my visitors through search. imagine if I was selling something, no wait, then I wouldn't have to grovel.

I know that i have modeled my site around certain keywords, and i am now on the fronpage of that keyword search. Im getting visitors from google every day. PR, the way it works now, is worthless

My worry , right now, is that Google can kill any web site for UNKNOWN factors
. This lousy PR concept and fluctuating SERP can change your fortune overnigh - for the worse most of the time

My site is going back up again.
Before the update it was 4, then 3 then 2 a few weeks later and now it shows 3 again.
Anyone else see this happening on their sites?

While you may not have done anything wrong those who link to you without your knowledge may have and this can hurt your rankings.

Try not to get too wrapped up in misinformation posted online....especially here at DP.

You should worry more that you don't understand how to build a business.

Look outside....do you see any business with a Google toolbar posted on their walls??

    Build a business!!

Grabbing a free ride from a search engine is cause for a trauma accident...

two of my PR4 sites went to a PR3. Another PR4 site went to a PR 2. One of my PR0 sites went to a PR3, while another one of my PR0 sites went to a PR2.

I'm a little annoyed at google for constantly changing their algorithm. It would be best if they just came out and said "PR is Bullshit." That way, at least we would have verification of what we already know.

I suppose overall, google gives us purpose. Purpose to find new ways to exploit their BS algorithm monthly. Hey whatever pays the bills right! peace

No, i'm a web developer. One of my projects is a forum, which has on every page, in the footer "developed by ---link---". The same goes for another 2 sites, with ~300 pages each. So I doubt I will get penalties for that.
