    I just wish they would give my site a page rank. I have around 14,000 freaking backlinks (although of course google dosen't list any outside of the Webmaster tools). Sure, most from PR 0, but lots from PR5 and PR 4 as well. And of course a smatering of others.

    You would think this might give the site a little bit of page rank? I mean other than 0 or N/A?

    Hope this is an over all process, and not just a reduction program.

    I changed the domain name of my PR4 site back in may, 301'd all the content got a few thousand natual backlinks but i'm still showing as PR0 :(

    Why was the Q3/Q4 PageRank Update thread replaced with this one?

    We are just about to have the update finished referred to by that thread. The down grading of PR's that were boosted by paid links was just the first part and as was posted in that thread in a few places, Matt Cutts had said on Oct. 1st that he didn't expect a full PR update for at least a few weeks. That would put us around the 21st or a little after, which is only a week away.

    I checked all of my sites (more than 20 sites) and sites that I have already memorized PR of them but I haven't noticed any PR change.
    Are there any official PR check tools?

    For the last couple of weeks people have been noticing declines in pr. Yes, it is a pr update - it's just on a small scale and/or selective and not a full toolbar pr export. Remember, on October 1st, Matt Cutts said he did not expect a full pr export for a few weeks and possibly longer. The keyword is a full pr export. What we are seeing is a partial update because only a handful of people claim any increase in pr - and yes, I even question that.

    It's likely that Google retooled the pr parameters, thus making it harder to achieve higher pr. It's also likely that Google is spanking paid link buyers and devaluing paid links. This would be a difficult undertaking. I suspect Google is rolling out pr decreases on a small scale, to existing pr sites, to monitor the results and not create too much fuss.
