Well I think that it is apparent that Goog is taking us out slowly to avoid a mass of people that would be capable of starting something that would hurt Google!! This really stinks!! Google Mutiny??.com ??? I bought this today just in case it needs to be used!!! I am not in to search engines playing God and Goog is clearly trying to do this in my opinion!!! Free Speech Internet?? Bah!!!!!!!!!! The fact is that Yahoo is getting better ratings and MSN WILL BE THE KING, and they rightfully should be!!

    We will see!!

Google doesn't want people to "manipulate" the SERPs. They want to provide quality search results... for us. :)

This is my score so far, and so far it has been very mild and I hope it stays that way!

    6 to 3: 1
    5 to 3: 12
    4 to 3: 7
    4 to 2: 3
    4 to 1: 1
    3 to 2: 14

I have a total of just over 1000 sites. I have excluded more minor changes and sites who dropped their PR completely in August.

Well for the Business that just wants to find good avenues to advertise their site in, what do you suggest??

Should we not advertise and just let Google decide who is the best for their viewers??? I am curious??

    Anyone??

As far as Google is concerned, you are only allowed to advertise using Adwords to drive traffic to your site. Once you have spent thousands of dollars, there should be webmasters who are willing to put up links to your site because they like your content.

I might actually believe that as it is a valid point although that doesn't look good for Google as it just make them sound like Money Scam Artists, but the fact is if you read some of the testimonials so far, there are people that claim that they NEVER bought or sold links and they got hit too!! What would be the answer for that??

Agree, and I think there will be very soon some alternative of PR for webmasters.
...Again agree, both yahoo and msn return better results!

No, I doubt that Google gives a moment's attention to whether their policies affect PR link sellers' livelihoods. Why should they? Google is not a social welfare agency. They are a stockholder-owned, publicly-traded company. As such, their duty is to maximize profits for the stockholders, and they are fulfilling that duty quite well.

Now, after massive PR drop .. it'd be harder to find PR6,7 and 8 sites .. Since the supply of high PR links is lowered and demand is same or increased .. do you think it would increase the value/price of PageRank?

As we have seen, alive and aviva are now PR4 (if I am not mistaken), will it increase the value of PR5,6 directories?

Another thing most webmasters were concerned was, If google is going to drop the PR or not .. by this update, its pretty obvious that they want to keep it. So .. what's your take on high PR sites/links. Their value is increased or is same?

    Thoughts?

I dont think it will make much of a difference. Probably it is just less 10% sites that had a drop in PR. The sites that sticks to standard practices still keep the PR. I did not find any change in PR for any of my sites.
